Is Online Learning for Me?
If this is the first time you are taking an online class or thinking about taking one, please visit the site above for information about the expectations and requirements of an online class. There are also answers to common questions or concerns that you may have about taking an online class
Admission to UCF
Please visit the admissions department of UCF for information on the admission process. You can apply online through their website. Students who plan to enroll in Web-based or video-based programs must be admitted to the University and must follow the same admission procedures as other students. To facilitate your admission, apply early.
Transfer Students
It is highly recommended that all new transfer students vist the Office of Transfer Services for information about transferring to UCF. You can also view the Knight Quest Transfer Guide for answers to common questions about the transfer process at UCF.
International Students
UCF's office of International Student and Scholar Services provides advice and guidance for foreign students regarding INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) and SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) rules, regulations and reporting.
See this page specifically for a list of news releases and workshops of relevance to current and prospective international students.
Virtual Tour
Take the UCF virtual tour for a visual introduction to the campus and its community.
Undergraduate Orientation
Newly admitted degree seeking freshmen and transfer students are
required to complete an orientation which includes advising and class
registration activities. Information on the orientation sessions is
mailed to all new students upon acceptance to the University. Transfer
students entering a Web-based program may complete their orientation on
campus or online. For more information visit the orientation website.
Graduate Orientation
Graduate student orientation is predominantly self study although there
are campus-based welcome and orientation events scheduled for new
students. Complete information is available at the Graduate Studies website.
Tuition and Fees
Required fees are established by the Board of Trustees and the Florida State Legislature and are subject to change without notice. Fees may be paid by credit card through the POLARIS Web interface. Fees are affected by residency status. Information on Florida residency for tuition purposes is on the admission application form and in the undergraduate and graduate catalogs.
Office of Financial Aid
Students taking distance courses qualify for financial aid and scholarships the same as all UCF students. For more information on financial aid options as well as scholarships please visit the Office of Financial Aid above.
Class Schedule and Registration Information
UCF runs on a semester calendar, and class registration opens in the spring for the subsequent 3 semesters. Registration then remains open for each semester until classes begin. Students search the class schedule and register using the secure Web-based tools and forms available through the UCF portal at https://my.ucf.edu Complete information on how to access and use these tools is available in the Schedule Web Guide published at the UCF Registrar's website
Complete listings of all fully and partially Web-based classes from the class schedule are also excerpted and available here on the Virtual Campus website.
Online Academic Programs
UCF online programs are unique and distinct from each other. For more information about the programs as well as telephone and email information for their advisors, visit our online academics page above.
Campus ID Card
It is possible to get a UCF photo ID card by mail. Your unique card identification numbers are needed to gain access to many of the restricted resources through the UCF library.
