Stephanie Vie, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Writing and Rhetoric, College of Arts and Humanities, was awarded the Chuck D. Dziuban Award for Excellence in Online Teaching by the Center for Distributed Learning (CDL). The award presentation occurred during the Showcase event that concluded the spring section of CDL’s faculty development program for online and blended teaching, IDL6543. Dr. Vie received the 2014 Dziuban Award for demonstrating excellence in online teaching for her course, ENC5930 Current Topics in Writing and Rhetoric.

Recognition

The winner received an iPad tablet along with a stipend to attend the Online Learning Accelerate Conference in Orlando.

About the Award

Named after UCF’s Chuck Dziuban, the award recognizes one outstanding UCF faculty member who has taught at least one blended or fully online course within the previous academic year. Dziuban is an internationally acclaimed leader in online learning and, among many other recognitions, was named UCF’s first Pegasus Professor and is currently a Professor Emeritus.
