Center for Distributed Learning

As part of the Division of Information Technologies & Resources of Academic Affairs, The Center for Distributed Learning serves as the Virtual Campus for the University. As the Virtual Campus, the Center brings focus to University efforts in Distributed Learning by providing administrative support for all distributed learning credit courses, degree programs and activities offered by the University.

Distributed Learning at UCF includes instructional delivery technologies such as interactive television and Web-based instruction that provide services to nontraditional, distant, and campus-based students. UCF has developed a significant number of totally Web-based degree, degree-completion, and certificate programs. Distributed Learning at UCF also encompasses the use of computer resources to extend and enhance traditional classroom instruction. Hundreds of courses are provided each year that have Web components, many that substitute online activity for classroom time and thereby reduce classroom scheduling demands and facility use at our growing University.
