Director for the Center for Distributed Learning at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is instrumental in developing marketing, and delivering quality distributed learning programs at UCF. In this role he is involved in the review of current and emerging technologies that would enhance the delivery of academic programs and courses. Dr. Upchurch has been with the University of Central Florida since 1998 and has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in an online format using WebCT. Prior to coming to UCF, Dr. Upchurch was involved in the testing and deployment of graduate courses using Lotus Learning Space at the University of Wisconsin – Stout. This Learning Space project was the direct result of a grant from the Sloan Foundation concerning Asynchronous Learning Networks.
